The Steam Vs. Epic Games war is heating up! Shortly After Deep Silver/Koch Media announced that Metro Exodus will have an exclusive release on the Epic Games Store instead of Steam, fans aren’t too happy about it. If you take a look at the review section for the game on Steam (keep in mind the game isn’t even out yet), users have proceeded to review bomb the game according to our source.
The majority of comments are throwing Deep Silver the middle finger, and others are simply giving their displeasure with the decision. Most people are not upset necessarily with Metro Exodus being on the Epic Games Store but with the fact that the game will come to Steam after February 14th, 2020. Personally, I’m not upset at all because there are plenty of other games that never come to Steam (think EA and Ubisoft games). This is showing me that there are a lot of ‘Steam Loyalists’ who are being extra about the situation. The only people who possibly have a case to be upset are those who pre-ordered the game on Steam. Metro said they will be mailed an Epic Games Store key when the game releases.
Even Valve made a statement that said, “We think the decision to remove the game is unfair to Steam customers, especially after a long pre-sale period. We apologize to Steam customers that were expecting it to be available for sale through the February 15th release date, but we were only recently informed of the decision and given limited time to let everyone know.”
So what do you think about Deep Silver putting Metro Exodus on the Epic Games Store and the review bombing on Steam? Let me know in the comments
