The act of Swatting has been one of the most dangerous ways to troll popular streamers. It not only puts the streamer and their families in danger but wastes the city’s money by calling false claims on someone. A lot of swatters have never been caught, but throughout the years the act has gotten so bad that one person actually got someone killed.
Tyler Barriss ended up calling the police on Andrew Finch who lived in Wichita, Kansas last year and got him mistakenly killed when the police thought he had a weapon. Now we received news that Barriss also plead guilty to over 40 charges of placing bomb threats. He will be sentenced on January 30th, 2019.
It’s sad that there are people in this world who think things like this are funny. Going to the extreme of placing fake threats against someone have severe consequences and now Tyler will be paying for it. I can only hope this trend stops for good after this.
