Today Epic Games and Fortnite announced they will be dropping a whopping 100 million dollars for eSports tournament prize pools for the first year of competitive play. I don’t know about you, but that’s some serious dedication to making sure Fortnite is here to stay.
We’ve already seen eSports teams secure their best players and move them into houses so they can train together. We’ve seYouTubersers start their own weekly tournaments featuring pro players and other content creators alike. We’ve seen players like Ninja get their own tournaments in Vegas. All of these examples show us that this game might go down as one of the most popular and successful games in history if Epic does this right!
More information will come shortly but be on the lookout for the pro/athlete tournament coming at E3 next month.
