Discord has been making a ton of moves over the years. One of the biggest moves the voice chat giant has made was with the Game Store and exclusive games on their platform. Now it looks like Discord is coming after Twitch with their new ‘Go Live’ feature according to our source.
How this works is whenever you’re playing a game (let’s say Apex Legends) you can just click one button to go live. Other people in your discord can come into the server and view your stream either on the desktop or web browser (mobile viewing coming later on). Discord is aiming to bring the feeling of couch gaming with your friends back.
If you use Discord classic, you can stream up to 1080p 60fps. If you have Discord Nitro, you can host up to 4K. Users will begin to see the feature starting on August 15th.
