The struggles of Bioware’s Anthem have been well documented at this point. Just head over to YouTube and you’ll be able to find a million different videos explaining why Anthem is trash. Mainly because hating Anthem got major views at one point. I have a suspicion most of these “angry gamers” didn’t actually care how the game turned out.  For those of you who still do you might be happy to know Bioware hasn’t given up. In a blog post-Bioware’s Casey Hudson said;

“Over the coming months we will be focusing on a longer-term redesign of the experience, specifically working to reinvent the core gameplay loop with clear goals, motivating challenges and progression with meaningful rewards – while preserving the fun of flying and fighting in a vast science-fantasy setting.  And to do that properly we’ll be doing something we’d like to have done more of the first time around – giving a focused team the time to test and iterate, focusing on gameplay first.”

As for the current state of Anthem; they’ll leave the servers up, but don’t expect any major content updates. All their focus is being poured into pulling off a potential Take King comeback. Can Bioware do it? Who knows? Lord knows they could use a win these days.

  1. @Mr_iKeepitreal BioWare killed off mass effect to give life to anthem… honestly I’d rather be playing mass effect. #Andromeda2
