Microsoft just announced details, and pricing for their new customizable controller they’ve named as their “Elite” controller. This special controller is designed to have customizable components. So players can adjust parts for each specific game. This level of customization will set you back $150 at its launch in October.

So, what do you get for your money? Here’s what’s in the box:

  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller
  • Carrying case
  • Set of 4 paddles
  • Set of 6 thumb-sticks: standard (2), tall (2), and domed (2)
  • Set of 2 D-pads: faceted and standard
  • USB cable
  • AA batteries
  • Quick Setup Guide and Product Manual

The Xbox Elite Pad will come with it’s very own app that allows you to customize the controller even more. With the app you can adjust trigger values to determine sensitivity, thumb-stick sensitivity, and change button assignments. So you are no longer stuck with the button variations the game offers. You can adjust all the buttons, paddles, d-pad, triggers, and thumb-sticks the way you wish.

You can then save profiles of controller setups for many different types of games. So one profile can be for Call of Duty, and another can be for Street Fighter 5. It’s all up to your preference. So, what do you think? Leave a comment.
