The U.S. Army has recruitment quotas they must meet and this is the first time in 10 years they didn’t hit their mark. Their solution? Do what all the young people are doing nowadays; gaming! According to our snitch“The hope is that the move to eSports will help the Army connect with young people, after falling short of its 76,500 target by 6.500 recruits.”

Army E-sports plans on competing in games such as PUBG, Fortnite, OverWatch, FIFA, LOL, Call of Duty, Madden, NBA 2K and Tekken. You must be active duty, reserve or a veteran to be eligible to compete. If you’re one of those three and want to give this new opportunity a shot, then click here to sign up.

Just understand that if you sign up and get accepted you will become a part of the Army’s Marketing And Engagement Team. According to the Army’s recruiting command spokeswoman, “they will be in a support role to help young people see soldiers in a different light and understand the many different roles people can have in the Army (and) help the Army address the growing disconnect with society.”

The first Tekken tournament is going down this December. The winner will get to compete at Pax South next year.
