For decades video games turned into movies have not done well in the box office. Despite this, movie companies continue to try and break the “curse” and produce movie adaptions that people will overall praise. Sony has a lot of video game IPs, and today news broke that the company launched Sony Productions to explore streaming, film, and TV.
Apparently, the production company already has some franchises in mind and are working on their first set of projects. Even though Sony is no stranger to the silver screen, maybe a video game streaming series of something like Uncharted might do better than a movie that flops the first week. What do you think of Sony’s latest move? What video game franchise could you see possibly doing well?
