We’ve heard rumors of an HD remaster for the original two Shenmue for some time. So to no surprise, the rumor mill is heating back up again. This time rumors are swirling as to when we can expect this HD remaster bundle. That release window would be sometime 2017.

This is all coming from what our informant claims to be an “a trusted source close to Atlus USA.”  Reports claim that the two games would be remastered and bundled with one another so that they could be launched near the release of Shenmue III. The most interesting part about this all is a PC version is also rumored to be slated for release. Hopefully, that means 4K 60fps. I don’t see why that wouldn’t be possible seeing as the games are old.

What about mechanics too? I’d imagine some mechanics in the game didn’t age too well. Would you want SEGA to spruce them up or leave the game as is with better visuals & frame rates? Let us know in the comments below! Also, check out the Shenmue III announcement trailer in case you missed it.
