The latest rumor to set the net on fire is one that involves Nintendo. I’m not sure where this rumor originated from, but I was able to find a video on it from a trustworthy Youtuber I watch named Dreamcast Guy. In the video, he claims a famous Nintendo leaker has new information for us.

Apparently, Nintendo is working on a Nintendo Switch Pro. This “Pro” version would include upgraded specs. Why? This leaker claims Nintendo now has an obsession¬†with 4K gaming all of sudden. I find this one hard to believe because history tends to repeat itself and Nintendo’s history has always been cutting as many corners as possible to make sure their console is cheaper than the competition. The rumored specs are

  • 8GB’s of Ram
  • 128GB of internal storage
  • 4K upscaling

Nintendo allegedly¬†wants to attract more third-party developers to their platform. Something they’ve notoriously struggled with since the Gamecube days. Nintendo doesn’t just want more ports, but higher quality ports. Some these ports would only run exclusively on the Pro. Games like the upcoming Resident Evil 2 remake. That’s why this rumor is hard to believe.

Millions of people have already purchased a Nintendo Switch. It’s hard for me to believe Nintendo wants to fragment their audience. Then again they did do it with the New 3DS. That 3DS had an improved CPU and a bonus analog stick, so only certain games could run on it. At this point I don’t know what to believe is true or not? I just know I will be upset if it is because I’ve barely owned my Switch for a year. I doubt I’m the only one who feels this way too. What do you think? Any truth to this rumor?
