These days I’m not a big fan of Nintendo. Breath Of The Wild is obviously amazing and I’m enjoying Mario Sports Super Stars on my 3DS, but there’s only so much Mario & Zelda I can stomach. I find myself skipping more & more iterations of their flagship titles. But I recently read something that caught my attention. During an interview with Fox News, Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Amie proclaimed that Nintendo would be showing up at E3 2017 with the big guns!

“E3 is always a big time for Nintendo. We look at each E3 as a unique opportunity to tell our story. And we’re gonna have a big E3 this year. We’re going to be showcasing a variety of games. We will have experiences for consumers who will be able to attend the show for the very first time. So I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo

We will have experiences for consumers who will be able to attend the show for the very first time. So I’m not gonna tell you all of the various games and all of our little secrets for E3, but I can tell you that E3 is going to be a major opportunity for us to showcase not only Nintendo Switch, but also content coming to Nintendo 3DS.”

I’ve read through that statement several times. I tried to decrypted it and I couldn’t find anything in there that hints at a new Metroid. Lord knows we are overdue for a new Samus adventure with online multiplayer. That would make me consider picking up a Nintendo Switch.  I’m also curious to know what he means by “experiences for consumers who will be able to attend the show for the very first time.”

Nintendo has been doing Nintendo Directs for the past few years. The only thing they had to do at E3 last year was play Zelda. Hopefully, he’s eluding to Nintendo having a bigger booth at E3 2017. E3 is June 14th to the 16th this year, so we’ll see. I’ll be on the lookout for a new Metroid. Now let’s all pray we don’t have another Cranky Kong situation on our hands!
