The moment that Pokemon fans have been waiting for is here. Today we received more information on the newest set of official Pokemon titles from Game Freak called Sword And Shield. The 15 minute Direct started with showing us more of the Galar region and had an epic Pokemon battle with enlarged versions of Raichu and Gyarados.

Next, we received some information on some new Pokemon and their evolutions:

  • Wooloo (Sheep Pokemon)
  • Gossifleur (Flower Pokemon)
  • Drednaw (Bite Pokemon)
  • Corviknight (Raven Pokemon)

In the Wild Area of the Galar region is the place where you can find the majority of Pokemon who you can clearly see running, jumping, flying, or swimming around. Depending on the weather and time of day, you will see different Pokemon. You also have FULL control over the camera.

The enlarged version of the Pokemon are called Dynamax. When this happens, the Pokemon obviously grow in size, and also have their moves enhanced in the process. You can only do this once per battle, so use this wisely. You can also have a max raid battle where up to four trainers can team up and fight against a Dynamax Pokemon who stays like that the entire battle.

Other information includes some of the characters in the Galar region including Leon, Hop (who is your rival in the game). The Pokemon gyms are big stadiums this time that will allow Dynamax Pokemon to fight freely. One of the gym leaders is named Milo who is a grass type leader.

Finally, they ended the Pokemon direct with a CG trailer showing off the legendary Pokemon Zacian and Zamazenta. Zacian has a sword in its mouth, and Zamazenta has a shield on its face. I think I’m finally excited to play another Pokemon after all of these years. Pokemon Sword and Shield drops for the Nintendo Switch on November 15th. There will also be a dual pack if you want both versions at the same time. Check out the full Pokemon Direct below.
