Ubisoft’s extreme sports game Steep as of today will be free to play on PS4, Xbox One and PC this weekend. The free to play weekend starts today and will end on Monday, March 13.

This version will come with access to the entire game including Alaska, a recently added free update. In this game you can snowboard, ski, paraglide and even use a wingsuit. Steep also has an open-world environment.

Steep’s standard version of the game will be 50% off and the Gold Edition 40% off on Xbox Live until March 13 and March 20 on PS4. The Ubisoft Store is also discounting both editions of the game by 50 percent until Tuesday March 14.

One cool thing about trying out the free version is if you decide to purchase the game, all of your progress will carry over as announced onĀ Steep’s website.

Usually when games take such an approach only a few months after it’s release, it’s typically due to disappointing sales. Steep was launched in December, updated frequently and even added free DLC. Let’s hope for those who was skeptical about the game, this promotion will give them more incentive to at least try it and determine if Steep is truly the game for them.
