Shortly after we reported that Netflix officially canceled Iron Fist Season 3 on Netflix after Season 2 improved on Season 1’s failures, hardcore Marvel fans have rallied together to create a petition to bring Iron Fist back. I initially thought there was going to be no issue with Season 3 because [SPOILERS]: At the end of Iron Fist Season 2, we saw a glimpse of a season 3 happening heavily involving Ward and Danny looking for who delivered a deceased Iron Fist to the US. Melissa Hodge is the mastermind behind the campaign and issued this statement:
“Netflix has made a terrible decision in canceling Iron Fist after 2 seasons,” the official message from the fan petition reads. “There are many fans of the character and the series and most people said that the second season was excellent. I think it’s unfair that Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil get a third season and their shows get mixed reviews too yet Iron Fist gets the shaft. There is so much more potential and stories to be told and it’s not great fan service to end the last season on a cliffhanger and not go along with it especially when the second season was better received with critics and fans. So Netflix and Marvel please revise your decision and greenlight a third season for Iron Fist.”
On the bright side, Danny Rand will reportedly still be a part of the Netflix MCU, but we don’t know if they will have anything to do with the cliffhangers that Season 2 of Iron Fist left us on. If you feel so strongly about Iron Fist and hope that Netflix listens to the now 25K signatures, you can sign here.
