If you make or watch content on YouTube, then you are no stranger to someone typing ” Welcome to 301+ club” in the comment section of a video. YouTube recently announced that they are getting rid of the 301+ system in favor of a more live and up to date one. The reason the 301+ system was put into place was to weed out bot views and only validate what YouTube clarified as real people watching the video. They would freeze the video at 301 views, validate, and then update with a more accurate number. It seems they look to continue the process without freezing the video at 301 and instead sort out the bots live. Hopefully this doesn’t open YouTube’s algorithms up to exploits like the past, but for now say good bye to the 301 club!
