Epic Games did it really big for Fortnite Season 4. The entire landscape of one map got changed so much to keep the game fresh. They had a one-time event with a Rocket launch. New guns were added that changed the meta of the game. Arctyc told me post E3 that Season 5 was going to be way bigger than Season 4, and I found that hard to believe because Season 4 was already a fun rollercoaster. Now we’re here with Season 5.
Towards the end of Season 4, after the Rocket launch we started seeing items and landmarks from the game showing up in real life (Durr-Burger sign, Llamas). The theme this season is “Worlds Collide” where things like a Viking ship, a desert outpost, and ancient statues are all over the island. There are also new mysteries and locations over the map as well. A new 4-person ATK buggy is available to drive around, so this now brings the notion that other vehicles have the ability to also appear in the game.
Now Fortnite is on version 5.0, and as usual, there are some new patch notes. Some notable changes that have been made are:
- Shotguns will now indicate how many pellets hit, visible within the reticle.
- After firing a shotgun, another shotgun cannot be fired for a very short time (Double pump gone again?)
- Heavy Shotgun now fires 10 pellets rather than 5.
