Remember that joke “there’s an app for that”? There really is an app for everything nowadays. Valve is the latest company to throw their hat into the ios and Andriod arena. Their plan is to allow gamers to stream their Steam library to their smartphones over their Wifi connections in their home.
Our plug claims this app will be able to stream games up to 4K 60fps to your mobile device. This app will work best over 5 GHz, not 2.4 GHz networks. The app will be free is slated to drop May 21st, 2018. If I were one of the 5 people who purchased a Steam link from a couple years ago I’d be pissed.
If the connection is stable and there isn’t a lot of latency & compression going on, then this could be a big deal. I own a Bluetooth controller for my iPhone, so that means I could be lying in bed playing Rainbow Six Siege from my phone. Sounds too good to be true! We shall see. Wait on it!
