China is very big on the mobile market. A company called iReadyGo has been in the handheld business for years. They recently jumped to creating a handheld that also doubles as a smartphone after acquiring Snail Mobile in 2014.
The new hybrid is called the Snail Mobile i7. It is currently retailing at around $280 US. Specs include:
- 6-inch 1080p touchscreen
- 6 GB Ram
- 64 GB storage
- Stereo speakers
- Dual SIM slots
- Removable 6,000 mAh battery
The funny thing about this device is that it looks almost identical to a PSVita. It has a D-pad, analog sticks on both sides, four action buttons, and two shoulder buttons. It has an Android based OS, so you will be able to play all of your Android games on it
It is supposed to launch on July 30th overseas, but the company does plan on releasing it stateside in the near future. I don’t know how much traction it will get, but if you’re looking for a decent smartphone/handheld hybrid, you might want to check this one out.
