For those of you unaware when the Nintendo Switch launches this March, the online component will be free in the form of a trial. Once that trial is up, then you have to pay to continue to play online. That bit of news has been the subject of criticism from a certain portion of the community, but at this point, there’s nothing you can do. Details have finally come out in regards to pricing. According to our snitch, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima told the Nikkei that the Switches online would cost gamers between 2,000 & 3,000 yen. That translates to $17.60 to $26.40. Due to currency differences, I’m willing to bet that the online will actually be $30 a year. $26.40 is just too random, so I could see Nintendo rounding that up. Not a terrible price, but I still don’t trust Nintendo to provide a solid online experience.
