Yesterday Ubisoft revealed their new game in the Ghost Recon series called Breakpoint ahead of E3 2019. For those who were expecting a more linear experience like Future Soldier, well I don’t think we will ever get that type of game again. Ghost Recon Wildlands did not do as well as Ubisoft might have expected, but they continued to provide support for that game. For Breakpoint, this is the same open world style as Wildlands, but way more tactical and realistic. So realistic that you can suffer semi-permanent injuries, you have to eat and rest, you have stamina that you have to watch constantly, and much more. This looks to be a true survival style Ghost Recon.

The game takes place in the South Pacific on a remote island called Auroa, home of Skell Technology that has autonomous drones. Of course with technology nothing goes right, and one of the drones was accused of assassinating a political candidate, and now the US government must act and make sure the drones do not cause another massive threat to the world. You get tasked to go to the island, and you can go either solo or with up to four squadmates.

The game will be available on October 4th, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for uPlay and the Epic Store (sorry no Steam). I’m not sure if this one interests me, as I wasn’t a fan of Wildlands. I’m definitely not a fan of super realistic survival type games, but if this is up your alley then this may be the game for you. Check out the full reveal below and the official website for more info.

    1. Am I the only one who thinks that, after throwing all of these Sam Fisher references in their latest games (The Division 1, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ghost Recon Wildlands, maybe even the Division 2 but I haven’t played it yet), they should have made a new Splinter Cell game out of the synopsis and even gameplay for this one?
