The New Nvidia Shield Does What Current Gen Consoles Can’t – Gaming illuminaughty Skip to content

Nvidia has revealed their refreshed Nvidia Shield console at CES 2017, and it’s making some waves. Mainly because of how powerful Nvidia is touting it to be. They’re claiming their latest cloud-based console can perform 1080p 60fps gaming with ease. That’s 4X more powerful than current gen consoles (these are their words, not mine).

“Instantly play on-demand PC games powered by supercharged NVIDIA Pascal GPUs in the cloud that drives 4X faster gameplay than “next-gen” game consoles. Log in for multiplayer gaming and online leaderboards anywhere there’s a SHIELD. The first month is even free for a limited time.”

The new Nvidia Shield will set you back $200 for the 16GB model or $300 for the 500GB model. I’m not sure who is out here asking for a cloud-based console, but clearly, someone bought it if they’re releasing a sequel. If you want to preorder one click here. Otherwise, peep the reveal trailer below.
