While the Nvidia press conference is currently happening over at Twitch, we have price points for the new line of Nvidia graphics cards. They are called RTX and will be the 20x line.
After almost a year stint of gamers having issues getting their hands on the 10x series of GPUs due to crypto miners buying them in bulk, Nvidia finally dropped their newest line of GPUs including the 2080 and 2080 Ti. Yes, you read that correctly! Nvidia is no longer making gamers wait on the Ti version of their cards, but it will run you a cool $1,199 if you want to get your hands on one. Here are the current prices as follows:
- GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition – $1,199
- GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition – $799
- GeForce RTX 2070 Founders Edition – $599
The current models shown above are currently available for pre-order and will release on September 20th (one day after my birthday if anyone wants to gift me one..lol). I’m assuming that the 2060 and 2050 will arrive later on. Hopefully, these new cards will not suffer the same issues of going double their price due to people buying them in bulk.
The RTX stands for Raytracing. Without getting into full nerd details, Nvidia is focusing on illumination and lighting. With this technology, it will be easier to provide more realistic lighting and shadows. All I know is that I need a small loan of $1200 so I can upgrade!
