Epic Games and the ever popular game Fortnite has been under a lot of heat since last year over alleged stolen dance moves that have been made into emotes for players to purchase. People from 2 Milly to Alfonso Riberio AKA Carlton Banks have all filed suits against Epic, but we received news that all of the lawsuits have been dropped temporarily according to our source.
The problem that has been constantly debated is “Can a dance move be copyrighted”? Alfonso Ribeiro attempted to copyright the Carlton Dance, but it got declined because it’s just a “simple dance routine”. Other suits from Backpack Kid and Orange Shirt Kid have also been dropped, but they can be refiled. We will see if any of these suits start back up and have better evidence to support their claims against Epic Games.
