Mods are a beautiful thing. They are one the many reasons to get into PC gaming. You’ll get experiences that can’t be found on console. The only thing is mods have always been free. According to out sources Valve wants to change that with their digital distribution store Steam.

A new functionality has rolled out on the Steam Workshop page for Skyrim that allows modders to charge for their mods. The creator is allowed to charge whatever he/she desires as long as they’re fine with only making 25% of the profit.

Yes you read that correctly. Steam is taking a whopping 75% of the cut. Naturally this has a large portion of the community upset and Valve is being lit up in their forums. How this all plays out in the long run will just have to wait and see.
