The juggernauts of the PC gaming realm Steam have been testing out a group chat feature (similar to Discord) for weeks with beta members. Now that the majority of bugs have been figured out, the chat feature is available to everyone. Features like text and voice channels are there. You can name the group whatever you want, assign roles, sort by the games each member is playing, etc.
The only features I don’t see in Steam’s chat system are the voice and video recording. Right now there is no reason for me to switch from Discord to this, but if you’ve never used Discord (or any other voice/text messaging system on PC), this would be a sturdy alternative.
