Sound! Euphonium or Hibike! Euphonium was one of the best slice-of-life and Kyoto Animation shows to come out this decade. It was easily in the runner for anime of the year last year going toe to toe against other great shows like; One Punch Man, Food Wars and Death Parade. The synopsis of Sound Euphonium reads as follows.
“Kumiko Oumae is looking for a new beginning at Kitauji High School, distant from most of her middle school peers. She befriends Hazuki Katou and Saphire “Midori” Kawashima and joins the Music Club with them, a past-time from her junior high days. There she continues to play euphonium and encounters Reina Kousaka, a figure from her past she didn’t expect to meet again. As the club works tirelessly to achieve it’s goals, the two girls awkwardly dance around each other, each wanting to know the other more.”
Now Kyoto Animation the studio behind the hit, have revealed their new teaser trailer for season 2. The trailer is kind of different from what most people expected from the show, with KyoAni opting for a jazz punk soundtrack with a rather weird narration playing over it emphasising “Heaven or Hell” whatever that means. Well Sound! Euphonium season 2 will most likely be a Spring season hit and a must watch, but this trailer does have some fans questioning what exactly KyoAni is playing at.
