DC Comics has yet to prove they can create a decent Super Hero film, but that hasn’t stopped them from announcing more films for the future. The latest character to earn their own solo film is Batman’s vigilante sidekick Batgirl. She’ll be the 2nd female to receive her own flick after the release of Wonder Woman. According to our informant,
“The movie project will be based on the Batgirl story that was first unveiled in DC Comics in 1967, when Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon, appeared as the character in “The Million Dollar Debut of Batgirl!”
The film’s reported to be directed by Joss Whedon. If you’re unfamiliar with his work, he’s the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Agents Of Shield + he co-wrote the original Toy Story. I don’t find Batgirl interesting enough to hold her own film. Hopefully, they surround her with plenty of familiar faces from Gotham because she’s just not Wonder Woman. Also, DC has yet to put out a good Super Hero film, so I don’t trust them.
Hopefully Wonder Woman and The Justice League are done justice.
