The rumors were true! Ryu from Street Fighter, and Roy from Fire Emblem are joining the roster of Smash Bros. for the Wii U. The rumors started a couple months ago when people looked into the files of Smash Bros, and found sound files for both characters. Some speculated that they may be future DLC or perhaps a deal with Capcom fell through and, the files were just left in the game.

Today, Unseen64’s Liam Robertson was able to find unlisted YouTube videos on Nintendo’s own YouTube channel that clearly show the character introductions of Roy, and Ryu. It shows a bit of their play styles, and even a rendition of Ryu’s classic rooftop level that may be a new playable arena. By the look of the animation, they are using Ryu’s look from Street Fighter 4.

It is clear that this was supposed to be revealed during E3, but do you think they have any other surprises in store for Smash Bros? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
