Super Monkey Ball was a large part of my childhood. I used to attend a YMCA after school for my middle & high school days when I didn’t have practice for sports. What did we do at the Y? Mostly game. There was one Gamecube and one of the games that ruined friendships was Super Monkey Ball.
So naturally, I was excited to read there’s a chance it could return. I figured some of our readers were fans too and might want to know. So what’s the deal? SEGA recently trademarked Super Monkey Ball Tabegoro in Japan. Tabegoro translates to “ripe” or “okay to eat” in English. Thing is that the game doesn’t exist.
Does this confirm a new game in the series? No! Companies trademark things all the time just to protect their IP’s, but it does give hope. Also if this game does become reality what platform would it be on? SEGA’s already on record saying Super Monkey Ball wasn’t in the cards. Maybe they pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes? Maybe they’re secretly developing it for the Switch?
If this is real just don’t let it be a mobile game, please.
