Rainbow Six Siege Microtransaction & DLC Plans – Gaming illuminaughty Skip to content
Published November 6, 2015

Seems like it’s normal for companies to lie out their microtransactions and DLC before the game even releases now. Rainbow got delayed multiple times, but that doesn’t matter. Forget finishing your game. Let’s talk about DLC baby! This is a slippery slope folks, but as long as the masses keep supporting this, then I’m just preaching to the choir.

Siege is expected to get four expansion packs in the coming year according to reports. Each “expansion” will add one new map and two operators (classes). All maps and operators will be free, but you’ll have to use the games “renown” system to unlock characters and skins. These renown points can be earned in game or purchased via microtransactions. There will also be premium cosmetics that can only be purchased with real cash.

Ubisoft is trying to come off as the good guys here, but you can’t pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Calling two new characters and a map an expansion pack is a crime. That sounds like content left off the disc to me. The game doesn’t even have a story. Why are there microtransactions? This stuff is becoming a┬áserious problem.
