In I thought it wasn’t possible news, Sony activated backwards compatibility on their platform the PS4. But here’s the catch, it’s not for PS3 games, but PS2. Yes, ladies and gentlemen! Dust off that copy of Jak & Daxter 2 you have lying around and test it out! According to our source, Sony secretly released PS2 emulation unbeknownst to us all to test things out. A Sony rep gave this statement

“We are working on utilizing PS2 emulation technology to bring PS2 games forward to the current generation. We have nothing further to comment at this point.”

So, we know the PS4 has the ability to play PS2 games. We don’t know how long it’s had the capability, or how many titles Sony will release, but it exists. We’ll continue to investigate.”

I find this news to be hilarious because allow me to rewind your memory back to E3 2013 where BOTH Microsoft & Sony claimed backwards compatibility wasn’t possible on their respective consoles. Microsoft rolls it out and here we are a week later getting it on Sony’s Platform. Somebody lied. It’s almost like we shouldn’t trust these corporations or something.
