At last, Blizzard is talking details on Overwatch’s anticipated competitive mode. In a new video on the Overwatch youtube, game director Jeff Kaplan discussed all of the different aspects of the mode. At the top of the list, each competitive season will be two and a half months, with a two week cooldown in between seasons. Jeff said that these seasons will be based off of the actual seasons of the year. (Fall, Spring, Summer and Winter)
As for Competitive Play’s ranking system, it will now focus on skill rating rather than a division ranking. When the mode is released, you’ll see your MMR change as the season goes on. For rewards, Kaplan promised those who play competitive will receive cosmetic rewards like icons and sprays (No skins -.-).
