This album dropped in 1995 (best year for hip hop in my opinion) in a year where so many classic albums came out and it’s probably in my top 10 most listened to albums of all time. Daz and Kurupt’s debut album under the Death Row umbrella had so many bangers on it during the West Coast’s reign at the top of hip hop.
Daz was a producer/rapper from California and Kurupt the best MC that Death Row had prior to 2pac arriving is from Philadelphia but migrated to the west coast and made a name for themselves as a powerful group. They had some legendary songs on this album such as New York, New York, Let’s play house, So Many Styles, Dogg Pound Gangsta and Cyko Lic No to name a few. Not gonna lie, I had track 2 on repeat most of the time because of that hypnotic beat and Kurupt’s flow.
If you haven’t heard this album, make sure to check it out.
Here’s one of the classic joints from the album:
Hip-Hop Snob, Gamer and Sports Guru and the Big Cousin of the Gaming Illuminaughty.
