Oculus has been under fire from a company called Zenimax Media who sued Oculus over virtual technology that Zenimax owns that were used to make the Oculus. Originally Zenimax wanted $4 billion dollars in compensation and ended up receiving $500 million.
In case you forgot, Facebook bought Oculus rift and everyone thought they would have to pay the hefty fee, but Facebook ended up getting off the hook. So now the fee falls down to the former CEO Brendan Iribe, founder Palmer Luckey, and CTO John Carmack.
The moral of the story here is, don’t take what isn’t yours (even if it’s source code).
