What do you get when Microsoft refuses to bring their biggest FPS properly back to the PC platform? Give up? Hardcore fans are bringing it to PC themselves. Thirty dedicated Halo fans are bringing a fan made multiplayer Halo experience to PC called Installation 01. According to the plug, their goal is

“to recreate the multiplayer experience of the Halo games, and for gamers to enjoy an amazing Halo experience world-wide on Windows, Macintosh and Linux computers.”

For those fearing of this thing being shut down before it even get legs just know these fans have found a loophole.

“Our work is completely legal. We are carefully following the rules set forth in Microsoft’s Game Content Usage Rules. No content in our game has been ‘ripped’, it’s all handmade by our team.”

These guys are making everything in their game from scratch using the Unity Engine & it will be free. The best part is there will be something new and familiar, so it’s something for everyone. They’re working on new maps, single player content, and other features. They plan on conducting a multiplayer test this November. We’ll be sure to let you know when news comes out for Installation 01. Meanwhile, peep the first trailer below.
