Is 2018 the year of games shutting down!? Shortly after the team over at Epic announced the shut down on their MOBA Paragon, the team over at Motiga/Perfect World put out a post announcing the hybrid MOBA will be shutting down their servers on July 31st, 2018.

The January update will be the final update for the game. Anyone who is still playing will be able to play with all of the heroes for free, and you will not be able to purchase any in-game currency. The reason for shutting down stems from not enough players hopping on board to sustain keeping the servers alive and putting out steady updates. With not enough people on the servers, it’s best to just cut your losses and move on.

I hope this trend doesn’t continue this year. Even though the staff at GI didn’t play it as much as we’d like to, I think some of us did enjoy the unique take on the MOBA format that Gigantic delivered. We even got some of you all on board during their promotion. I wish all the best to the team over at Motiga/Perfect World.
