Mighty Number 9 (Mega Man’s spiritual successor) is gearing up for launch this September, but before the paint can even dry the creator & his team are already planning their next time. It’s called Red Ash and it was reveal via Kickstarter today.
Their goal is to raise 800K to develop a game that looks like a spiritual successor to Mega Man Legends. They’re not calling it that, but it sure as hell reminds of the game. They describe their goals for Red Ash as
“a very different project from a retro action game like Mighty No. 9, in terms of both scale and concept. The primary goal with RED ASH is to tell a story on a grand scale; all of the primary concepts are clearly visualized in the minds of the creative team, from the overall plot to historical background.”
Here’s also a quick summary of the story for you
“As a result of the Robot World War, humanity is driven to the brink of extinction. Humanity has managed to persevere and survive, battling now feral robotic weapons at every turn in a world of nothing but wasteland and ruins…
With the advent of Lost Technology, precious legacies of a forgotten era, they have managed to rebuild their society. A wealthy class has emerged, helping to expand these newly formed cities and settlements and living in opulence as a result.
However, their livelihoods are supported by the brave fools who hunt the dangerous ruins and wastelands for Lost Technology. These people are known simply as Delvers.”
The project currently raised 180K out it’s 800K goal with 29 days left to donate. I think it’s safe to say it will hit its goals. Possibly even its stretch goals. If you’d like to donate click here.
