Online shopping is at a fever pitch. It’s gotten to the point where customers walk into a store like Best Buy just to compare their price to Amazon. The one problem with online shopping is adults have responsibilities. School & work keep most people outside their house, so often deliveries are missed.
If you live in a decent neighborhood, then Amazon will leave your package at your door. The problem is that isn’t always the case. Now you missed your delivery and have to try to reschedule something or waste gas to pick it up. So what’s Amazon’s solution? Amazon Key!
A new cloud-driven service that utilizes cameras to monitor the delivery man. The delivery man scans a barcode, it goes to the cloud and if everything checks out, then the customer’s door will open. They can then open the door, leave your package and lock the door. This preview video from The Verge does a better job of explaining it all. How y’all feel about letting strangers in? I don’t care if they’re being recorded. This service is begging to be abused.
