At this point, it’s no secret that Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is the most explosive phone on the market. Ever since it exploded on the scene, it’s been making waves. Airports banned them; people clowned them! Samsung was so embarrassed by this fiasco that they issued a DMCA takedown to someone who modded the Note 7 into GTA V. The internet exploded and Samsung took even more backlash!
Samsung tried to rectify the situation by encouraging people to trade in their phones, but apparently, their offer didn’t blow up online wide enough because people are still out there with Note 7’s. So instead of letting things blow out of proportion further they’ve decided to release an update that will brick everyone’s Note 7’s. According to the plug, this is their last ditch effort to get all their TNT back into their possession.
“Together with our carrier partners, we will be notifying consumers through multiple touchpoints to encourage any remaining Galaxy Note7 owners to participate in the program and to take advantage of the financial incentives available.”
I know you can trade your phone in for another, but if this affected me I’d be demanding a credit on my bill for the inconvenience. This news has BLOWN me away.
