First announced at this year’s Comic-Con, DC Entertainment and the CW finally unveiled the casting choice today for Hawkman who is set to join the cast of the Flash and Arrow spin-off series ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’. The character will be played by Falk Hentschel (Reckless, Marvel’s Agents of Shield) and will first make it’s debut this fall in the Arrow and Flash crossover event before starring in the spin-off.
Carter Hall aka Hawkman is described by the network as “the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders (played by Ciara Renée). Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as “Hawkman.”
The network also revealed that the character will appear on all 3 shows in their next upcoming seasons, hinting that he may remember his past lives. The series synopsis is as follows:
“When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”
