It’s never fun when I hear about any job suffering layoffs, especially in the video game industry. Latest news tells us that the Boston-based game studio which is known for Rock Band and Dance Central had to lay off 17 employees. They told gameindusty.biz the following:

“Today we made the difficult decision to say goodbye to 17 talented people as we restructured to align with our current and anticipated development needs. These people all played a role in making Harmonix and its games what they are today and we are more than grateful for their contributions. We are working to ensure that they are taken care of as we make this change.”

This also isn’t the first time the company laid off employees. In 2014 they laid off 37 employees to restructure their lineup. Harmonix is still working on other titles like ‘Rock Band VR’ and DropMix. Let’s hope the company doesn’t have to suffer any further layoffs.
