We knew GTA V was a success but now we are finding out how successful it really is. As part of the $150 million lawsuit against Take-Two by it’s former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzie, it’s been revealed that GTA Online has generated “at least” $500 million in revenue from micro-transactions.
Yes half a billion generated from shark cards. To put it into perspective earlier in the year Microsoft confirmed that sales from Halo 5’s Req packs have generated at least $1.5 million. The lawsuit also estimates revenue from the game to be in the area of $3 billion. With so much money being generated online we can pretty much see the writing on the wall for the story mode DLC.
