Google really wants to buy OLED displays from LG, so much so that they are willing to spend $880 million for a guranteed stable supply of flexible OLED panels. Google is looking to use the flexible OLED panel for their latest project called Pixel. This could be a huge deal for LG if they are able to hold their in of the deal and it also opens up the door to new Google phones. Google wouldn’t be the first company looking to move forward with OLED displays. Apple is making the move to OLED displays as well with the order of 160 million panels for the iPhone 8. Currently, Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ currently use the flexible panels. The phone industry is adapting new technology and continue to advance each and every year.
