Now, this makes a lot of sense that Google would get into the VR business, especially with its Cardboard Initiative! This step is a clear indicator that Google was gearing up towards VR. They even have a new VR department and have been hiring for the past few months. I am very interested to see Google Challenge other big time companies that are already producing their VR headset. Competition is good, but don’t you think the VR business is saturated enough?
I guess only time will tell, especially with VR coming out in the first half of this year. I look forward to trying out some VR headsets as they are released and then I can get an authentic experience and form my opinion. Google is already pushing 360 videos on youtube, and I feel that this tech will make things even better. I believe this is just a test for something bigger. I wonder what it would it be called? Are you guys excited about experiencing VR and do you believe Google could be a contender to Project Morpheus and the Oculus Rift? Let us know in the comment section below!
