GOG popped up out of nowhere within the last couple years. Like Bing challenging google, people sided with what they’re used to. At first, it appeared that they wanted to compete with STEAM, but now it seems they are starting to see things differently.
GOG is now allowing you to bring your STEAM library with you. That sounds smart because let’s face it no one wants to repurchase a game so they can have it on a new platform. That then raises the question of why we need GOG in the first place. If we already have an extensive steam library, why would we just port to another STEAM like platform? It is very unclear what GOG’s end game is, but at least they are starting to realize that they can’t just get users by offering game keys with every graphics card purchase.
