The latest God of War is officially a week from release, and people have been having a lot of mixed opinions. Longtime fans were upset at the route Sony was taking with Kratos. They didn’t want him to have this “soft” nature. Others felt like they were copying The Last of Us story. Now that the major gaming outlets got their hands on the game, we’re seeing completely different opinions.
Gamespot gave God of War a 9/10 and says that “God of War is no longer an old-fashioned action series. With this reboot, it confidently walks a new path that will hopefully lead to more exciting adventures to come.”
Game Informer gave God of War a 9.75/10 and says “Kratos’ reinvention serves as a narrative hook, but it also parallels the series’ evolution as a whole; where God of War once relied on bombast and bloodlust, now it leaves space for strategy and nuance.”
IGN gave God of War a perfect 10/10 and says “The obvious care that went into crafting its world, characters, and gameplay delivers by far the most stirring and memorable game in the series.”
As you can see, no one said anything bad about the game! It might be safe to say that this God of War will definitely be one of the front-runners for Game of The Year 2018. I wasn’t super excited to play the game, but now I’m hyped! Be on the lookout for a full streaming playthrough next Friday, April 20th.
