A 15-year old was charged last Saturday for reporting multiple bomb threats to his high school in order to impress his friends on Xbox Live.
The teen, that was a student at Susan Wagner High School located in Staten Island New York, was charged for making terroristic threats, and aggravated harassment. At this time he will not be charged as an adult. So instead of Criminal Court, the teen will be charged in Family Court.
The teen charged states that he was egged on by his friends on Xbox Live. The game that the teen was playing was not reported, but the teen reports that his friends considered actions like this funny.
The teen first sent an e-mail to the school. The school responded by evacuating the premises, and called in the police to sweep for the explosives. The teen a few days later mocked the police in a separate e-mail stating that they’ve missed four explosives. Finally, the teen called the principal of the High School and stated, “I’m gonna blow up this fucking school. Evacuate now!”
This final call was the last piece the police needed to track the student, and bring him in for questioning. A few other high schools around the area have also had bomb scares, and the police are investigating if they are related.
So, what punishment should this teen receive? Let me know in the comments.
