Developed by Headgames, Inc. and made for the Sega Genesis in 1995, X-Men 2 Clone Wars was a 2D action platformer that was action from the start of the game until the end.
There isn’t even an opening to the game once you turn it on, you go right into the fight and no game was done like that before and not many after. After the opening sequence, you are given the choice of 6 playable characters: Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Psylocke and Wolverine to go into battle with.
For it’s time, the game is graphically satisfying and the music makes the game flow as well. Each character has his/her own unique abilities, Cyclops is best for ranged attacks, Beast is agile and strong, Nightcrawler can teleport and Wolverine’s healing factor is a must. Level design is pretty cool and controls are responsive.
Fire up your old SEGA Genesis and try this out if you haven’t tried it or relive this classic if you haven’t played in a while.
