Quakecon 2018 came and went this past weekend and with it came a bunch of news. One piece of news that is making waves is that Fallout 76 will feature mod support. The only catch is it will be for private servers. This makes sense because nobody wants to run into a random giant Spongebob online.
Private servers will allow you and your friends to go crazy without ruining anyone else experience online that just wants the vanilla Fallout 76 experience. Just don’t expect mod support at launch. A smooth experience is Bethesda’s main focus at launch. Bethesda’s Todd Howard is on record saying
“our goal for launch is to have a well-running robust service, and then, some period later, you’ll be able to have your own private world.”
Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
