The first official trailer for the highly anticipated Fallout 4 is here! Just yesterday the Bethesda website turned into the a countdown, and right at 10 am Eastern the video was set live! So, what did we learn from this trailer?
To be honest, we learned a lot! The rumors of this title taking place is the Boston City area is pretty much confirmed at this point. Mainly because at one point of this trailer you see the famous colonial era ship, USS Constitution, or more famously known as Old Ironside during a panning shot. Which is the oldest commissioned ship still afloat. Which, of course, is ported in Boston.
This location opens up to the possibility of many new, and possibly dangerous gangs. It’s a Fallout tradition that the gangs around the area tend to take on personas of what that area is famous for. So, perhaps we will fight gangs with a British Redcoat theme, or a Colonial Solider theme. Plus, the famous technological focused university M.I.T is close by so robot fights may possibly be a thing.
We also know that the ability for a dog companion is back! Many people loved good old Dogmeat from Fallout 3, and this time we see that the dog is a staple of this game. It seems that this new dog may be a companion from the very start.
This game will not be on older gen hardware. Sorry those still clinging onto your PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 units. This will a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC only title. More about the game, and game-play will be showcased during Bethesda’s E3 conference that is schedule for June 14th at 7pm Pacific Standard Time.
So, what did you think about the trailer? Let me know in the comments!
